How to reply without overreaching
A delayed estimate does not prove the company is wrong. It does justify a detailed evidence request. Keep the wording formal: you dispute the charge, you need the timeline and records, and you ask the company to pause collection while the evidence is provided.
When to escalate
Escalation makes more sense if the company cannot connect the damage to your rental period, cannot explain mileage differences, or refuses to provide the documents behind the amount.
